The C.R. Clarke 500 hot wire strip heater is one of the most recognisable and reliable line benders on the market, popular for both workshops and educational environments. The 500 has a single tensioned heating wire and is suitable for materials up to 500mm in length and 5mm in thickness. Ideal for folding most thermoplastic materials. Calibrated guides perpendicular to the heating wire aid bend positioning. A fixed guard ensures that there are no hot surfaces exposed to the operator.

Product Details

The 500 Hot Wire Strip Heater allows a sheet of thermoplastic material (e.g. acrylic, ABS, polycarbonate) to be heated in a strip along its length. The width of the heated area is normally around twice the thickness of the material. Due to the characteristics of the material, it becomes flexible when heated, allowing it to be bent to the required shape. Once cooled, the bent material retains the formed shape.
